In 1997, I started raising English Bulldogs. I owned several beautiful Bulldogs and tried to only breed with the best. I had wonderful friends at Beach Bullies that offered advice and guidance with my breeding program. I then acquired a wonderful female named Coco from Cherokee Bulldogs. She was a Ch. Sired female out of Legends Pretty Boy. Coco gave me several joyous years before moving to live with my good friends at KC’s Bulldogs.
In 2004, my wife asked if she could have a “Frenchie”. I thought, a little Bulldog-like dog with bat ears? After purchasing my first Frenchie I fell in love. These little creatures are a dog owners dream. It wasn’t long that a second was added to the family. I decided, as I did with the English, I would only work with the best I could find. In 2006 I purchased Ch. Harley, An American Legend. He was the cornerstone of our Frenchie family. Spartan Frenchies was established because I saw a chance to share Harley’s greatness and watch as his children blossomed with his fine characteristics. Harley produced some wonderful pups many are now in the show ring. Harley’s pups were a pleasure to raise and all went to wonderful homes. This year, I lost Harley. He died of a heart attack at age 6. We miss him very much.
Sometimes good things can come from tragedy. Dawn Ferdinand, Ch. Harleys previous owner, decided that I should have Harley’s son Hank. Because of her kindness, a new wonderful male has come to Spartan Frenchies. Hank is a chip off the old block with 2 majors under his belt.He is looking to take over for his daddy. Hank has already produced some wonderful frenchies and we are looking for great things from him. Many thanks to Toad Alley Frenchies and Dawn for her friendship and kindness.
